Big Berkey Water Filter System - 2.25 Gallons

About 2 years ago I bought a Big Berkey for my daughter for her and her family. She really depends on her Berkey to give her and her family safe drinking water. So 2 years later I am buying one for myself and replacement filters for hers. Easy to order and set up, great customer service from GetBerkey. I tell everyone about my Berkey. Very Happy.

I have a water bottle with a filter but I hated that when people came over I had to apologize for the water we gave them. Now I can share good water and know that my cooking water, pet water, etc. is as clean as I can get it. Pretty easy to put together; I did have some leaking from the spigot so had to dump out my first batch of filtered water and tighten it. It's been perfect so far. Easy to assemble, prime, and use. Reminds me of the well water I had as a kid growing up on my Dads farm. That water was so good we drank it right out of the water hose. I was putting a new roof on my garage in temperatures in the 80s, I think I drank nearly 1.5 gallons of the water that day. It sustained me throughout the day and a little fresh lemon with it was very satisfying. Plus our water here gets fluoridated and its nice to know with the extra fluoride filters I'm not putting poison in my body anymore. Love it.

The Big Berkey is very convinient for those in smaller kitchens or homes (good height for easy refilling on a countertop). The water is FANTASTIC! Tea has never tasted so delicious and so refreshing. It's ridiculous the amount of impurities present in tap water that can harm you. Since we are 70 percent water, why not make that 70 percent of amazingly clean water?

My husband and I have been using Brita filters and pitchers for the past many years to remove as many impurities from our water as possible. We heard/read about the Berkey online as I was searching for other options to filter our water. We want to be diligent about doing all we can to be healthy and trust God with what we have no control over. After much research, we believe the Berkey is the best option out there for us (we factored in the quality of the Berkey, ability to filter, and the financial cost). In getting started, we initially had some trouble getting the spigot on tight enough so that there were no leaks. Once that was done, we primed all the filters (2 black and 2 of the PF-2) and have had no problems and LOVE the Big Berkey. We are finding that for 2 people, we fill the Big Berkey each evening, and that provides enough water for the next day. We LOVE that when we need good water, it's readily available (unlike when we were using the small Brita pitchers - we were continually using/refilling/waiting, etc.) We use the filtered water for everything - washing fruits/vegetables, cooking, our pet, etc. Another result we LOVE, is that our coffee has a much smoother taste. Lastly, economically, we benefit! The fact that the Big Berkey, plus the PF-2 filters we purchased will last us so long, compared to how frequently we were needing to purchase the Brita filters. I bought a big Berkey on the recommendation of 3 friends and they were right. It meets all of my expectations and the water tastes great. My wife wants me to buy another one just like it for our vacation home.

the water tastes great! i have well water and the filters do the job. if some rust adheres to the filter i just scrub it off.
